🤍 Our Core Promise

At Glox, we built this app to hold the quiet, precious light moments of your life: the slant of morning sun on your desk, the glow of a candle over dinner, the gold of golden hour spilling through your kitchen window. We know these moments are not just "user data" — they’re small, meaningful memories you’ve chosen to save.

This pact exists to make one thing clear: your light archives belong to you, and we will treat them with the same care you put into capturing them. We will never use your personal moments for any purpose you don’t explicitly agree to, and you retain full intellectual property rights over every photo, tag, note, and space profile you create in Glox.

We built our privacy rules around the needs of people who want to keep their quiet moments private, not around the demands of advertisers or data brokers.

📸 What We Collect (And Why)

1. Light Moment Content You Choose to Upload

The only personal content we receive is exactly what you choose to save to Glox: photos of light moments, custom mood tags, light notes you write, and space profiles you create for your favorite rooms. We collect this only to make the core Glox features work: building your light timeline, letting you compare moments side-by-side, organizing your themed collections, and syncing your archive across devices if you opt in to that feature.

2. Optional Account Information

If you choose to create a Glox account (you can use most Glox features without one), we only collect the email address you provide for account recovery and sync access. We never require you to share your legal name, phone number, social media profiles, or any other identifying information to use the app. You are welcome to use a fully anonymous email for your account if you prefer.

3. Fully Anonymous Usage Data

We collect de-identified, aggregate data about how people use Glox features: for example, how many users create themed collections, or how long the timeline feature takes to load. This data is never linked to your account, never includes any of your light moment content, and is only used to fix bugs and improve Glox for everyone. You can opt out of even this anonymous usage tracking in your app settings at any time.

We never access or collect any other photos, files, or data from your device outside of what you explicitly choose to upload to Glox.

🚫 What We Never Do

We will never scan, analyze, or mine your light moment photos, tags, or notes for advertising purposes.

If you save a photo of your favorite candle, you will never see candle ads in Glox, and we will never share that you saved that photo with any brand.

We will never sell, rent, lease, or share your personal light archives with any third party for any reason.

This includes data brokers, advertisers, social platforms, or any other entity, unless you explicitly ask us to share a specific moment with another person.

We will never access your private light archives unless you explicitly grant us temporary, limited permission to troubleshoot a technical issue you report.

Any such access is logged, and revoked immediately after the issue is resolved. We will never view your content for any other reason.

We will never track your location, unless you choose to manually add a location tag to a space profile.

Even then, that location tag stays only in your private archive, and we never use it to track your movements or share it with any third party.

We will never lock your data into our platform or make it hard for you to leave.

You can export your entire archive in open, unencrypted formats at any time, for free, with no restrictions.

🔍 How We Use Your Data

We only use your data to provide the Glox features you choose to use, and for no other purpose:

  • To store and display your light moment archive, build your custom light timeline, enable side-by-side moment comparison, and organize your themed collections
  • To sync your archive across your devices, if you have opted in to cloud sync
  • To help you recover your account if you lose access, using the email you provided
  • To respond to support requests or feedback you send to us
  • To fix technical bugs and improve Glox features, using only anonymous, de-identified usage data that is never linked to your account

We will never use your data for any purpose not listed above, unless we ask for your explicit written permission first.

🔐 Data Storage & Safety

Local-Only Storage Option (Default)

By default, all your Glox content is stored only on your local device, and never sent to our servers at all. If you never opt in to cloud sync, we have no copy of your light moments, no access to your content, and no way to view any of your archive.

End-to-End Encrypted Cloud Sync

If you choose to turn on cloud sync for cross-device access, all your content is encrypted on your device before it ever sends to our servers. We hold no encryption keys, so even if our servers were breached, no one could view your content. Only you have access to your encryption key, stored only on your trusted devices.

Permanent Deletion

When you delete any content (a single light moment, a collection, or your entire account), we immediately mark it for deletion from all active servers, and purge all backup copies within 72 hours. There is no "soft delete" or hidden archive of your deleted content — once you delete something, it is gone forever.

Inactive Account Policy

If you have not logged into your Glox account for 3 consecutive years, we will send 3 reminder emails to your registered address over a 90-day period. If you do not respond to confirm you want to keep your account active, we will permanently delete all your content and account data to avoid holding unused personal data indefinitely.

🎛️ Your Full Controls

You have 100% ownership and control over every piece of content you save to Glox, no exceptions:

✅ Edit or delete any content

Edit, delete, or archive any individual light moment, space profile, or themed collection at any time, with no restrictions.

✅ Export your full archive

Export your entire light archive at any time, for free, in open formats: original quality photos, plain text notes, and structured tag/space data stored in universal JSON files compatible with most photo management software.

✅ Toggle cloud sync on or off

Switch between local-only storage and encrypted cloud sync whenever you prefer; turning sync off will stop further uploads and let you remove server copies manually.

✅ Opt out of anonymous analytics

Disable all anonymous usage tracking in settings with one tap, with no impact on core app functionality.

✅ Update or change your account email

Swap your registered email address anytime to maintain account security and recovery access.

✅ Complete account deletion

Submit full account deletion request to erase your email, cloud data and all uploaded content entirely from our systems.

All control options are accessible directly inside Glox Settings, no hidden forms or waiting periods required.

🤝 Third Party Rules

Glox only relies on minimal third-party service providers required to operate encrypted cloud storage and secure email delivery, with strict contractual privacy obligations:

  • Cloud hosting providers only receive end-to-end encrypted blobs they cannot decrypt or read, with contract clauses prohibiting data inspection or resale.
  • Transactional email services are only used for account recovery and policy alerts; they never receive your photo content or personal archive metadata.
  • We never integrate third-party trackers, analytics SDKs, advertising libraries, or social login plugins into the Glox application.

No third party is permitted to use your personal information for their own independent marketing, profiling, or commercial purposes under any circumstances.

🔄 Pact Updates

We may revise this Privacy Pact occasionally to reflect feature changes, legal compliance adjustments, or improved privacy protections.

  • For minor, non-material edits (typos, wording clarification), we will post the revised version on this page with an updated effective date.
  • If changes meaningfully alter how we collect, store, or use your personal data, we will notify registered account holders via email at least 30 days before new terms take effect.
  • You retain the right to stop using Glox, disable cloud sync, or delete your account entirely if you disagree with updated privacy terms.

We will never roll back existing privacy protections to become less restrictive without explicit advance user notice.
